I’m reminded time and again during these stressful times to remember to have faith and trust the process within this time of change and transformation! So easy and so hard at the same time, yes?

Going With The Flow!

What does this saying really mean? In googling it, different meanings referring to “the flow of happiness” come up, as well as going with the majority, and/or being agreeable to the conditions favored by most.

The way I have come to think of it, however is being able to relax in the energy of the world as it presents itself to you. In the Osho Zen Tarot deck, the Ace of Cups is titled “GOING WITH THE FLOW”, and features a figure floating in water imagery. You can see the water floating around them, and they are relaxing in to it, even going so far as to stick an arm behind their head in a classic relaxed pose!

I am also reminded of the importance of ‘going with the flow’ in other water-themed situations, like when dealing with riptides: “If you cannot swim out of the riptide, float on your back and allow the riptide to take you away from shore until you are beyond the pull of the current. Rip currents generally subside 50 to 100 yards from shore. Once the riptide subsides, swim parallel to shore and then back to shore.” (popularmechanics.com). It’s important to relax at first, because otherwise energy will be wasted. This, of course, contributes to the danger of the situation. So we use of heads, remember what is happening, and relax.

I’m also reminded of what can happen when we get slammed by a wave in the ocean. As surfers know, sometimes you just have to hold your breath and relax in to it as you get tossed and tumbled by the waves. Eventually, there will be a break between waves in which to pop up and catch a breath!

As I’m writing this, theme words are popping out at me. Words and phrases like: relax, waves, flow, energy. There is a lot of symbolic imagery that can be used for this time of change and transformation that is 2020, and let’s learn from it! Think of how you can relax into something, and take a higher perspective. Let’s all try to be a little more flexible and focus on taking the occasional collective breath as we ride these waves!

This poem / story is the foundation to one of my personal favorite wisdoms of “when we find ourselves in a hole, we work on shifting it and getting out–we don’t make ourselves comfortable!”. I Had No Idea!

One thing I talked about in today’s podcast is the importance of always looking to learn and evolve through this school of life. I even said that I didn’t understand people who choose to stay in limbo and not grow, and / or numb out.

That statement is misleading, because I have lived years of my life within a certain energy of being comfortably numb, as unhappy as I was. Because I drank regularly, I was perfectly (un)happy to live each day in and out, partying and trying to avoid emotional pain (which was, of course, impossible).

Once my decision to quit alcohol held, then I was in a place to continue ‘working’ on myself: going back to school, finishing college degrees, etc. During this time I was also dedicated to exploring the idea of healing my ‘inner’: researching meditation, my personal connection to God / Universal Energy, etc. I felt as though I had my own “Under Construction” sign over my head.

The fascinating thing is: the more I healed, the better I felt…BUT IN LOOKING BACK I NOW REALIZE THAT I WAS STILL NOT HAPPY. But I thought I was. It’s so strange! I am so thankful that now I can definitively see how I am now eons away from where I was.

So the point that I’m trying to make is…it’s ALL GOOD. Keep learning. Keep healing. Keep growing. Keep reaching your goals, and once you complete ’em, make new ones! You will also look back in hindsight and understand how far you’ve come and how much better you feel. Keep it up!

Hard, but worth it!

We ARE Moving Forward–Even If It Doesn’t Seem Like It!

I mentioned this important point in my podcast today (have you given it a listen? If not, check it out on my home page): it’s often the case that things seem as though they’re not changing as fast as we think they should in our lives. We may feel ‘stuck’, and in a limbo state. It becomes frustrating when even though we’ve dedicated ourselves to achieving a goal and put in persistent effort, we still have nothing really to show for it.

DO NOT GIVE UP! This all comes down to divine timing, and also the fact that things work themselves out ‘behind-the-scenes’ or ‘under-the-surface’ much of the time. All we can do is put in the authentic effort, continue walking our paths while connecting with our angels and guides along with God / Universal Energy. Stay open to curves in the road, signs and synchronicity, etc. And look for all of our many blessings!

Remember this daily prayer: “Thank You God, for all of my many blessing, all of the blessings on their way, and for everything always working out for me.” It’s a beautiful thing!

Doing A Post Even If I Don’t Feel Like It!

We’re in energetically stressful times, and as I’ve pointed out in my podcast “RVE For The HSP”, it is going to continue until Saturn completes its stay in Capricorn and moves into Aquarius in mid-December!

SO, until then, it’s important that we do our best to challenge ourselves to buckle down and work. This means doing things that we don’t necessarily WANT to do, but should anyway. It means parenting ourselves, and developing self-discipline (ugh). Not easy, but very important to be able to do.

Let’s just know that we’re not alone as we move forward with our personal goals, and as we try and try again. It’s all O.K.! Let’s keep trying; we create our lives and futures in moment after moment!

You Are Meant To Be Here!

In today’s podcast, I talk a bit about one of my great mentors who died from adrenal cancer a few years back. She lived her whole life with a deep wounding, feeling that her mother did not love her. I have met others who have felt this pain, feeling rejected from either parental figure, or both.

It is of utmost importance that this is healed, because I tell you with complete certainty that not only were you meant to be born, but you are also a child of God / Universal Energy AND ARE LOVED, AND DESERVE LOVE. You are worthy. You have gifts and talents to offer to the world, so get to it! This deep wounding only serves to cause deep instability on a soul level, and really, who can live their best life with that as a foundation?

I have a theory that the key to healing this pain is our connection with God / Universal Energy. It is truly what heals all wounds, and with it we need nothing else other than food, water, and shelter. It is this great Love that is like the Sun symbol in the tarot, filling us with healing light, health, happiness, abundance and prosperity! From there, everything else is extra goodness: our relationships with others, how we move and interact in our personal spheres, etc.!

Work It!

As you may well know (particularly if you listen to my podcast “RVE For The HSP”, there is an exact square between Mars and Pluto (Retrograde) that’s currently happening, though we are still feeling the energy of it for a bit because these are major players in the astrological experience!

The key to get through the frustration, anger, rage, fear, shadow side, and power / control issues that may crop up? W-O-R-K on yourself! We should all be WORKING, REALLY WORKING on something: learning a new skill, improving something, healing past wounds, exercising, moving forward with steps toward a goal, changing what no longer works for us, etc.!

Luckily, the Sun conjunct Mercury in Leo, and Neptune (Retrograde) in Pisces are there to give positive support during this time! So definitely focus on your goals, what you allow into your thoughts and mind, and strengthening your connection with God (whether you’re more specifically religious, or generally spiritual–I always say “God is shorthand for ‘Good'”.

Keep your mind occupied with possibilities of positive change, and keep on keepin’ on!

“Who cares how you look? How do you FEEL?

I, like many if not all people, am going through changes during this time of–you guessed it–change and transformation! The key is to focus on the positive and remain conscious as much as possible (the word ‘conscious’ cracks me up, but it is the language that’s available for the experience of just having a clear and calm mind). No small thing, as I say on my podcast.

We’ve been going through positive change, and it’s been very hard, but we’re not alone! We’re all healing and renovating our ‘insides’, and that’s a tough thing to do. One of the keys to getting through the stress is a specific wisdom that’s been passed down through the ages, and is very much a part of The Law of Attraction: how you you feel? Think about how you want to feel, and shift towards it as much as possible.

This morning I looked in the mirror, and was surprised at how much older I looked. I generally look pretty young, so I was a bit shocked at my reflection; I looked into a window of my future of aging. Luckily, I was immediately comforted by the thought: “Who cares how you look? How do you feel?

This is important for any life situation, large or small. But it’s particularly on point during times in which we, and our very lives, are changing. As we grow them, and ourselves, it’s vital to check in with how we want to FEEL in our lives, and move toward what supports THAT!

I feel pretty good. I’m comforted by the fact that I’ll still be attractive at any age (beauty on the inside does indeed shine out), and that I’m not old yet. I’ll likely never be, because I generally feel balanced, light and thankful. It’s better than any face cream!

Fighting with our reflections

Something happened the other day that brought to my attention the importance of really being aware of ways in which we fight, work against, and possibly hurt ourselves through subconscious self-sabotage.

I noticed a bird that was perched at the back of our car, and it was regularly fluttering and pecking at the rear window. I saw this off and on all day, and after looking throughly to make sure it wasn’t distressed about babies or hunting for bugs, figured that the bird was likely upset with its reflection.

This theory was confirmed when googling it, and my husband and I found out that this aggressive behavior is due to the bird defending his territory. Unfortunately, birds who confront and attack their reflections are at risk of exhausting and injuring themselves! So we did what the article recommended, and covered the window with paper. And it worked!

This got me thinking: how often do we risk exhaustion and injury to ourselves by fighting dreams, shadows, and reflections of ourselves within? It’s time to pay particular attention to any feeling of anger turned inward, and remember to be gentle with ourselves. Remember that we are stronger than we know, and that using our energy constructively is the way to go, vs. pecking / picking at our reflections. SELF-LOVE, not self-sabotage!

So, in times in which we are tempted to have negative self-talk, visualize papering your mind over with brown-paper-bag, secure it all with packing tape, in order to keep yourself protected from pecks!
