Dealing With and Healing Fear

There are different ways of doing this, of course. I’m simply sharing what has worked for and with me, and hopefully it’s useful to you as well!

  1. The biggest single factor that has helped me dissolve my fear is being (Capital-T) Tired of it! I’m talking SO OVER IT. Just disgustingly tired. Then it’s like getting to an inner place where you turn a corner on the fear. I don’t want to say that you’ll never experience the same fear again, but it’s more manageable each time. It’s just. so. old. and. over.
  2. Another tactic to employ is to work at ‘numbing’ yourself out, in order to not feel the fear. This can be achieved in different ways, and it’s important to focus on positive, healthy ways of doing so–like meditation and conscious breathing. NOT alcohol and other depressants. Exercise can be a good way off achieving this feeling of just being kind of ‘blank’ inside, also enjoying music and hertz frequencies.
  3. In working to get to a place of calm, also work on SHIFTING THE FEAR FEELINGS. How to do this? Well, you can practice different visualizations–for instance, picture a dome of bright, BRIGHT, white healing light over, around, and within you, surrounding you and filling you with this antibacterial light as bright as the Sun! It’s disinfecting all the muck, yuck, mold, etc. in your mind, heart, body, and soul. 🙂 Another thing to do is to consciously relax the different muscles in your body–many of us are very stressed, and the muscles in our bodies reflect this. Physically learn how to relax, and mentally learn how to relax too! Do the research to figure out what techniques work best for you–it’s an individual thing, remember! GOOD LUCK AND KEEP IT UP! Prayers asking for help and protection are huge, so always remember the connection to and with God / Universal Energy!

The Badass Octopus!

I’ve recently started watching “My Octopus Teacher”, a documentary about a snorkeler’s close friendship with an octopus that he visited daily in the kelp ocean garden where she lived. It was an amazing reminder of a post that I wrote many years ago, which I’ve included in its entirety below.

Before you read it however, I wanted to mention another story that highlights the intelligence of octopuses. One named Inky escaped from a New Zealand aquarium some years ago, and the off-hours break-out involved a multi-leveled plan. This included removing the lid from his tank, scooting down the hall and then entering a small pipe that led him to….the ocean! They tracked his wet trail the next morning. The aquarium staff said that he was a very adventurous and curious octopus, so it was fitting with is personality!

So, without further ado, here is my old article that I wrote:

“The other day I saw this video of an octopus escaping a ship’s deck by squeezing itself through a small hole. The fisherman who had caught it allowed the octopus to leave, and filmed its process of returning to the ocean.

The fisherman claimed that the octopus could ‘sense’ where the ocean is, and make its way back to it through a small hole in the side of the deck, and that’s exactly what happened. The fact that the animal could transform its shape to ooze through the opening didn’t surprise me as much as my husband—after all, they’re known for squeezing into small cracks and crevices in coral and stuff. It was the other video that we clicked on after that surprised me.

That’s when I learned how smart octopi really are. In this video, some scientists were studying their problem-solving and learning abilities, and apparently these cephalopods are a lot more intelligent than their general mucousy blobbiness would lead one to believe.

The scientists designed a box that needed to be opened in a certain way in order to retrieve the food (crab) inside, and the octopus in question would learn to do it and retain that information. Other octopi, not familiar with box, could watch the first one’s actions and learn how to do it themselves. They learn by watching, and can repeat the action.

This all got me thinking: what sort of wisdom is there to take away from the octopus? I love the symbolism in that one’s struggle to make it back to the ocean, and freedom. The persistence, patience, and dedication shown in reaching its goal is my personal take-away. Also the fact that it can plan things, and uses tools. It sounds like my own personal to-do list: Plan things. Use tools to achieve goals. Go toward freedom.

Thank you for your gifts, oh Octopus, Thinker of The Ocean.”

Prayer for Healing!

During a very difficult time in my life, this was my daily prayer. I’m sharing it with you to help with your healing, too!

“Dear God, Universal Energy,

Thank You for all of my many blessings. Please help me be and stay calm, centered, and grounded today. Please help me say and do all the right things at the right times. Please help me conquer my fears and addictions, and instill happiness and inner strength within myself. Please help me realize and utilize my talents and skills to the best of my abilities. And please help me help myself with these things!

In the original definitions and intentions of the words, Thank You, Blessed Be, Amen.”

The Dream or The Devil?

During the Guidance Card portion of today’s podcast, two cards came out back-to-back of opposing energies: the 6 of Cups (titled ‘The Dream’ in Osho Zen), and The Devil (titled ‘Conditioning’ in Osho Zen). These cards are diametrically opposed to one another, and it matches yet again the opposing energies that have been regularly showing up in readings: stop / go, rest / move forward, etc.! These opposing energies are: good will, simple joys, innocence vs. negativity, corruption, coveting. This is nothing new, certainly. These opposing energies are as old as time, and being individuals with free will, we are regularly faced with them. I tend to think that unless one consciously works on shifting our ego issues, pain, and fear, then a negative mind set tends to be the ‘norm’–so keep on working toward thinking and feeling the positive!

The way I see it, it’s not naive or silly, it’s necessary. AND I have evidence in my own life that it reaps positive effects, so why wouldn’t we try to shift our minds to the positive? One way lays sickness, ill-health, and dissatisfaction, and the others lays well-being, healthy energy, and satisfaction. It’s a no-brainer!

You Are Meant To Be Here!

In today’s podcast, I talk a bit about one of my great mentors who died from adrenal cancer a few years back. She lived her whole life with a deep wounding, feeling that her mother did not love her. I have met others who have felt this pain, feeling rejected from either parental figure, or both.

It is of utmost importance that this is healed, because I tell you with complete certainty that not only were you meant to be born, but you are also a child of God / Universal Energy AND ARE LOVED, AND DESERVE LOVE. You are worthy. You have gifts and talents to offer to the world, so get to it! This deep wounding only serves to cause deep instability on a soul level, and really, who can live their best life with that as a foundation?

I have a theory that the key to healing this pain is our connection with God / Universal Energy. It is truly what heals all wounds, and with it we need nothing else other than food, water, and shelter. It is this great Love that is like the Sun symbol in the tarot, filling us with healing light, health, happiness, abundance and prosperity! From there, everything else is extra goodness: our relationships with others, how we move and interact in our personal spheres, etc.!

So strengthen your self-love today: listen to my podcast from this date to learn more about how!

You are worthy and needed!

LIGHT!

This morning I’m thinking about light. Light is symbolically linked with truth, enlightenment, and healing (among others). It can be a disinfectant as well.

As we deal with and heal our personal muck and yuck, it’s important to remember to tend to our ‘inner’ light. It’s there, even if we aren’t aware of it. So we might as well work to keep it healthy and bright, so that it shines out into our lives and the world!

We can do this through calming the mind / meditation techniques (of which there are MANY), energy healing, chakra work, sound healing, visualizations, etc. I oftentimes picture myself enclosed in a healing chamber of sorts, surrounded by light, love, and energy for the Highest Good of All, Most Benevolent Outcome for All. Surrounded by and filled with the brightest of light disinfects all of the negativity in and/or around me!

And remember to stoke our inner lights on the daily: build our personal passion within that we then can use to focus on our healing and personal projects! With that, I’ll leave you with one of my favorite sayings. It was on a teabag from long ago, and I kept the little square of paper and covered it with clear tape to preserve it:

“Live light, travel light, spread the light, be the light.” Words to live by!

Shine bright!

“Who cares how you look? How do you FEEL?

I, like many if not all people, am going through changes during this time of–you guessed it–change and transformation! The key is to focus on the positive and remain conscious as much as possible (the word ‘conscious’ cracks me up, but it is the language that’s available for the experience of just having a clear and calm mind). No small thing, as I say on my podcast.

We’ve been going through positive change, and it’s been very hard, but we’re not alone! We’re all healing and renovating our ‘insides’, and that’s a tough thing to do. One of the keys to getting through the stress is a specific wisdom that’s been passed down through the ages, and is very much a part of The Law of Attraction: how you you feel? Think about how you want to feel, and shift towards it as much as possible.

This morning I looked in the mirror, and was surprised at how much older I looked. I generally look pretty young, so I was a bit shocked at my reflection; I looked into a window of my future of aging. Luckily, I was immediately comforted by the thought: “Who cares how you look? How do you feel?

This is important for any life situation, large or small. But it’s particularly on point during times in which we, and our very lives, are changing. As we grow them, and ourselves, it’s vital to check in with how we want to FEEL in our lives, and move toward what supports THAT!

I feel pretty good. I’m comforted by the fact that I’ll still be attractive at any age (beauty on the inside does indeed shine out), and that I’m not old yet. I’ll likely never be, because I generally feel balanced, light and thankful. It’s better than any face cream!

See the inner light?

Fighting with our reflections

Something happened the other day that brought to my attention the importance of really being aware of ways in which we fight, work against, and possibly hurt ourselves through subconscious self-sabotage.

I noticed a bird that was perched at the back of our car, and it was regularly fluttering and pecking at the rear window. I saw this off and on all day, and after looking throughly to make sure it wasn’t distressed about babies or hunting for bugs, figured that the bird was likely upset with its reflection.

This theory was confirmed when googling it, and my husband and I found out that this aggressive behavior is due to the bird defending his territory. Unfortunately, birds who confront and attack their reflections are at risk of exhausting and injuring themselves! So we did what the article recommended, and covered the window with paper. And it worked!

This got me thinking: how often do we risk exhaustion and injury to ourselves by fighting dreams, shadows, and reflections of ourselves within? It’s time to pay particular attention to any feeling of anger turned inward, and remember to be gentle with ourselves. Remember that we are stronger than we know, and that using our energy constructively is the way to go, vs. pecking / picking at our reflections. SELF-LOVE, not self-sabotage!

So, in times in which we are tempted to have negative self-talk, visualize papering your mind over with brown-paper-bag, secure it all with packing tape, in order to keep yourself protected from pecks!

Sending you love and peace, and may you be safe and well–

The World and The Toilet Bowl

The World and The Toilet Bowl

In today’s podcast (titled: “Counting Blessings” and Completion), The World card announced itself in the ‘Guidance Card Pull’ portion. When I read the positive descriptors that go along with this particular tarot card, my head rolled back, my tongue rollsed out Homer Simpson-style, and I literally salivated.

Phrases like: “achieving your heart’s desire, seeing dreams come true, taking pleasure in life, enjoying peace of mind, getting satisfaction, finding contentment, etc.–reading the words tickles me. Maybe it’s because I’m starting to feel this level of satisfaction in my life, on a level never experienced before.

I feel good today. I consciously realized it and took a moment to feel it more fully so as to remember it. I want to remember what it feels like in my body, so that I can call it back when I fall into a ‘muck and yuck’ mindspace.

The funny thing is, I had this personal epiphany as I was cleaning the toilet. Once I realized that, I tried to shift my thoughts for reasons that I don’t entirely understand. Did I think that I wasn’t giving the experience enough respect? God / Universal Energy / Source / Spirit doesn’t care if I was cleaning a toilet! God would love the fact that I’m thankful for receiving blessings and feeling good as I clean—talk about cleaning up my ‘muck and yuck’!

So I was left with this abiding lesson: when we feel good (which we do and will), really soak it up and marinate in it, so that it can linger and / or you can more easily recall it and feel it again when dealing with harder times during our personal work. We want to clean up our s*it, and feeling good while doing it helps on all levels.

“An Easy Guide to MEDITATION”, by Roy Eugene Davis

Meditation or medication? That is a quote that I read long ago, and it’s stuck with me. I truly believe in the positive benefits of meditation, even as I struggle to do it on a regular basis myself! The thing to remember is that however often we do it, and for however long we do it, WE WILL BENEFIT IN A POSITIVE WAY. Even if you sit for 1 minute and try to clear your mind.

This being said, I discovered an old pamphlet that was written in the 70’s and is now offered for free download online at: http://csa-davis.org/sites/?q=easyguide

I encourage you to take the time to read and digest the information in it, and have recorded an auditory podcast of it if you prefer: https://www.buzzsprout.com/925804/3788828-an-easy-guide-to-meditation.mp3?blob_id=14307206&download=true

Go for it! Who wouldn’t want an increased sense of calm, less stress, and a positive improvement in life? It’s important that we all research and try different things and experiences to find out what works for us personally. I wish you well; thank you for reading this, and thank you to all who helped this particular meditation manual be made free and available to us all!
